Jess Perez
Jess Perez is a strategic leader and dedicated community advocate with over 15 years of experience in the nonprofit sector. Currently the Associate Director of Strategic Initiatives and Development at Milestones, Jess began her career in the intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) field in 2010. Her professional journey is defined by a transition from 14 years of frontline direct support to executive leadership, a path that fuels her deep passion for systemic advocacy.
Beyond her professional role, Jess has a long history of grassroots organizing in Sonoma County. Her commitment to social justice took shape in 2011 during the Occupy movement, leading to her work with the Sonoma County Solidarity Network on workers’ and tenants' rights. Most notably, she was a key mentor for Andy’s Youth following the tragedy in the Moorland community. Before the park’s completion, Jess was instrumental in the grassroots effort to ensure the community’s voice was heard, specifically helping lead the youth-centered design and planning process for what is now Andy’s Unity Park.
Today, Jess balances her professional drive with a seat on several regional committees focused on Policy Advisory and Cultural and Linguistic Competency. As a member of the KBBF Board of Directors and Chair of the Fundraising Committee, she leverages her expertise in development and her deep roots in Santa Rosa to ensure community radio remains a vibrant, independent, and culturally accessible voice for everyone in Northern California.
