Alicia Sanchez

Alicia has been part of KBBF’s journey since its early days. She, her parents, and her five brothers came to Santa Rosa in 1969. She became aware of a group of Chicano students who wanted to start a bilingual public radio station. Although she left for college before KBBF 89.1 FM went on air in 1973, Alicia returned to Santa Rosa in 1986 and has been a loyal, long-term supporter ever since.
Over the years, Alicia has participated in many KBBF roles, including listener, interviewee, board president, and now, Executive Director. Her dedication to the station reflects her lifelong commitment to activism and advocacy, focusing on workers’ rights, immigration reform, gender equality, youth empowerment, non-violence, and social justice.
She remains deeply committed to preserving KBBF’s legacy and fostering its vision of serving the community. Her contact information: alicia.sanchez@kbbf.org, 707-545-8833.
